Writing for Lawyers: Essentials of Effective Legal Writing for Summer Associates and Legal Interns

This interactive program created for interns and summer associates teaches specific strategies for writing clear, concise legal documents, whether briefs, memos, letters or emails. Through examples and exercises, participants learn to eliminate common writing weaknesses on four levels: document organization, paragraph construction, sentence structure, and word choice.  This program is for PALS law students only.

2010 PALS Summer Reception and Thriving as a Summer Associate of Color Panel Discussion

We are pleased to once again offer the PALS Thriving as a Summer Associate of Color panel.  This program will provide students with career development tips to maximize their summer experience.  In addition to best practices for doing excellent work, panelists will discuss handling mid-summer evaluations, proper methods of obtaining feedback and developing relationships that will last beyond the summer.

2010 PALS Summer Bar Tutorial

Professor Leonard Lakin will review and discuss common bar exam fact patterns used by the New York Board of Law Examiners to test major rules of law. 

Please Note: This program is available to 1st Time Bar Takers from the 13 NYC area law schools only.  No exceptions will be made. 

This program is a supplemental tutorial. It is intended for law students of color who have graduated and who will sit for the New York State Bar exam in July 2010.

Registration is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.
